This happens more often that you’d think.
Your new website launched and everyone can see it, except you! WTF is going on?
Your office network may be configured to point your domain name to a specific IP address. When that happens, anyone on your local network will always see the old website while people who are not on your network will see the new website.
There’s an easy way to test this!
With your smart phone connected to your office’s WiFi network, access your website. If you’re seeing the old website, turn off your phone’s WiFi connection and try again. If you see the new website without WiFi, that indicates that your office network configuration is causing the problem!
So, how do we fix it?
This is usually a job for your IT person. They may need to change your router settings or administer your local network configuration to allow your domain name to resolve to the new server’s IP address. When that’s done, the problem should be fixed!
