What do we need from our clients to create their new website start to finish:

When clients contract us to build their new website, we work hard to align their expectations with the project’s goals. There are a few elements of this process that can really hang-up the whole process and cause the launch date to be pushed back.

To avoid this conflict, we have assembled a list of items our team needs to create and launch new websites for clients.

Our website building process begins with our graphic artists who carefully study each client business in order to better understand their marketing message and to align their new website communications with current promotional materials, logos, product packaging, etc. After the mock-up website design has been approved by the client, we turn the website project over to our web developers and the team https://webceed.co.uk/ who begin to assemble the look, function, and content into the final product.

Checklist Items:

  1. General Branding Assets – Starting with the company’s existing marketing materials ensures a consistent marketing message to customers world-wide.
    1. Hi-resolution versions of the client’s logo – preferably vector images – EPS or AI
    2. Brand guidelines that must be met? – for example, any specifics for the logo font, spacing, or colors
    3. Existing marketing collateral – materials that the client prefers and would like the website to match
  2. Website Design – We ask our new clients to show us other websites that they like, even if it’s just the color scheme or navigation menu that they like.
  3. Photography – Can you provide us with any images or other media that we should include in the website or do you need to purchase stock images or have custom media created for this project?
  4. Website Content – What content will the homepage contain and what element(s) of the homepage should be the most important or prominent?
    1. Legal Disclaimer or Policy – all pages that will be included in the footer
    2. Primary call(s) to action – ie. “Donate Now,” “Buy Tickets,” etc.
  5. Website Organization – We ask our clients for a basic site-map document that shows any hierarchy (outline “tree”) for the webpages
    Example Sitemap:

    1. Home
    2. About Us
      1. Mission
      2. Director
      3. Singers
      4. Board
      5. Bylaws
    3. Concerts
      1. Current Season
      2. Tickiets
      3. Legacy
        1. Our Repertoire
      4. Reviews
      5. Press Releases
    4. Support
    5. Contact Us
  6. Who at your company will provide us the actual content for each webpage and when will it be ready?

Had some updating issues with our website and Gabe provided an expedited response to our situation so we could keep the site up and running smoothly. Additionally, he tweaked a few things he noticed weren't correct so the site would have better SEO. Thanks so much!

Gabe at Gecko helped me not only with my business site, but also with my business in general, helping me imagine and re-imagine the user-experience. He sat with me for an hour, two different times, as I talked through what I wanted my site to be capable of, and then pointed me in a direction of how to make it happen. I am not entirely tech-savvy, and he gave me the tools I needed to take the next steps...and I always know I can call on Gecko if I get stuck or need a second look at what I've created. I highly recommend Gecko!
