Deep Ocean Education Project
NOAA and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation were looking to create a collaborative website with three giants of the ocean; NOAA Ocean Exploration, Schmidt Ocean Institute, and Nautilus Live – Ocean Exploration Trust. This website seamlessly connects the resources on all three contributing partner’s sites to a collaborative educational hub; the Deep Ocean Education Project. We’re beyond proud of this design and site build.
Deep Ocean Education Project – Global
The Design
The Gecko creative team knew the Deep Ocean Education Project website needed to be something special. With access to thousands of gorgeous photos curated by NOAA, we were off to the races. The typography and graphic elements throughout the site are both clean and compelling to highlight the stunning photography and videography from the partner organizations.
On the homepage, you will find a Netflix style slider where several featured Resources are easily digested. From there, a user can “Explore” all Resources, or add the featured ones to their own Educator Collection.
Beyond that, there is an entire page dedicated to the three magnificent vessels of the contributing partners; NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, E/V Nautilus, and R/V Falkor.
Gecko Designs was absolutely thrilled to work with several important leaders in science and technology and are beyond proud of the new Deep Ocean Education Project. Are you interested in crafting a stunning user experience for your clients? We’d love to help.
