on August 6, 2013
How To Add an Email Link in Word Press
- Login to the Dashboard of your WordPress site.
- Go to the pages section and select the page you want the email link on
- Place your cursor inside the visual editor window where you want the link to be
- Type out Email Me or the email address as seen in the example below:
For more information E-mail me at: [email protected] - *Note you can use what ever text you want for the email link but typically you see the email me text or the email address as the click-able link.
- Now Highlight what you would like the link to be and go to the link button
- *(The link button is the connected chain link icon above in tool bar, located to the right of the alignment buttons)
- By default the link box window that pops up will be auto filled with http://, Erase this and instead type in mailto: followed by the email address, *(with no spaces as in the example below), then Click Add Link
- Example: mailto:[email protected]
- Click the Update button on the page and then click View Page button and test click the new email link in your browser. It should open a new email message window with the linked email address in the send to line.
- * How it will look for your visitors depends on how they have their local email service setup on the device they are using when clicking your link.
